ABOUT
BIOGRAPHY
LNA (pronounced like DNA) uses her powerful yet delicate voice to weave together elements that seemingly have nothing in common into a fascinating universe where indie, electro-pop, and elements from film music come together.
Her sound is somewhere between Sylvan Esso and Radiohead, and with a captivating mix of bass that penetrates walls, organic samples, and driving drums, it defies the usual genre clichés. At the same time, it leaves room for her voice, which she uses like an instrument. Paired with intimate, narrative songwriting, LNA hits a sweet spot where the attentive complexity of themes such as feminism and coming of age culminate in a playful, almost simple listening experience that nevertheless grabs you deep inside: this artist makes her hard work sound damn easy on the ears.
What began as an indie folk project in 2019 has its origins much earlier – the 27-year-old has been writing songs since her teenage years, but for a long time only for herself, and only dared to sing in front of other people when she was 20. She grew up partly in Germany and partly in Sardinia with the desire to become an opera singer and developed a penchant for classical and film music, but also gathered more unusual musical influences through 15 years of dance lessons in contemporary and flamenco, where she discovered her love for Latin American music. It was only during an internship with a theater production, where she was actually just working as an assistant, that her music was heard for the first time.
What was originally intended as a fun project has resulted in 60 shows a year, including numerous support slots for well-known acts such as MEUTE, Novaa, Jesper Munk & Mayberg, and showcases such as Reeperbahnfestival, c/o pop, and Waves Vienna. LNA brings its extraordinary sound to the stage as a duo with live drums and a multitude of effect devices and instruments that are still unusual in pop music, such as the transverse flute, thrilling audiences with her uniquely honest and danceable performances.
Learning by doing is the motto: since 2023, LNA has not only been working on its own project as an artist, but also as a music producer. In 2024, she is branching out and working with other artists such as Mirella Precek, Lila Sovia, and BELLI as a producer and songwriter on their songs. She also works in advertising music and, in 2024, has contributed to commercials for brands such as Peugeot.
On September 26, 2025, after a 1.5-year hiatus, the first single “DONTWANNAGROWUP” from their next album will be released—an indie pop song with driving drums, a catchy bass line, and a chorus with hit potential. There's nothing more to say except: more to come.
